Channels
Microsoft Teams channel
The complete view of the Teams channel: how the communication arrives as a card in the employee's chat, the link between sender and Microsoft account, the available card formats and what each one allows to measure. Everything about channel configuration lives in Settings → Teams.
Concepts and terms
| Term (as it appears on screen) | What does it mean |
|---|---|
| Card | The message format in Teams: one of 8 fixed templates, combining image, text and "new announcement" button. |
| Link Sender | Connect a sender from the platform to a Microsoft account (browser login) — this link authorizes sending via Teams. |
| Text (limited) | Card variation with restricted text formatting, but which allows reading tracking (per pixel). |
| Subject | Optional in Teams; It's in the sending settings. |
| Automatic Responses | Automatic channel messages: standard, comment and reaction. |
How it works
- 1.The announcement becomes a card in the chat — you choose one of the 8 fixed templates and fill in: image (recommended 640×360 px, up to 1 MB — above that the editor warns you that it will be compressed), text and the button (up to 60 characters).
- 2.Button takes you to full content — pointing to the linked email announcement, a template, or new content.
- 3.Tracking depends on the card format: with image, the view is tracked by the image; "Text (limited)" tracks per pixel; the simple "Text" card does not have read tracking.
- 4.Automatic replies can be received by anyone who comments or reacts to the message.
How to configure
- 1.Settings → Teams → Link Sender. Prerequisites: the sender is active on the account and has a Microsoft account.
- 2.Click Link — the browser opens the Microsoft login; Sign in with the sender's corporate account. The button becomes Linked.
- 3.Unlink removes authorization (the sender stops sending through the channel until linked again).
- 4.In the Automatic Replies tab: turn on the switch, define the three messages (default, comment, reaction) and Save.
Limits and rules
| Rule | Value |
|---|---|
| Card formats | 8 fixed templates (image/text/button) |
| Card image | Recommended 640×360 px, up to 1 MB (above that is compressed) |
| Button text | Up to 60 characters |
| Bond | By sender (active sender + Microsoft account) |
| Reading Tracking | Card with image: yes; "Text (limited)": yes (pixel); Plain "text": no |
| Subject | Optional |
What tends to confuse
- The link is per sender, not account — each sender connects their own Microsoft account.
- Not every card is readable — if viewing is important, use a card with an image or "Text (limited)"; the plain text card does not track.
- The card is not the entire announcement — it is the invitation; the full content lives in the linked announcement that the button opens.
- Disabling the sender does not undo the link from Teams, but prevents new links.
